Life With The Lions

Life with the lions, that's you and me
Our love was savage, wild and free,
I bit you and you bit me
And yet, we knew, it had to be.

Now life is tame, what a bore
We don't go hunting, anymore,
We don't attack, snarl and bite
We are civilised, we do what's right.

Our worlds have changed, I wonder why
The sheep don't cower when I glide by,
I'm tamed and cowed, my paws are lame
My claws stay hidden, just like my pain.

Some night, though, when the moon is high,
You will hear my roar fill the sky,
You will hear my claws on your window pain
And off we'll go, to the wild, again.
